SOUTH WINDS SUSTAINED NEAR 10 MPH WITH SOME GUSTS OVER 15 MPH ARE
FORECAST FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE AFTERNOON. MINIMUM AFTERNOON
HUMIDITY WILL CONTINUE TO RANGE FROM 20 TO 25 PERCENT...AND SMALL
AND LARGE FUELS WILL REMAIN QUITE DRY. THESE CONDITIONS HAVE LED
TO A VERY HIGH FIRE DANGER ACROSS THE REGION. OUTDOOR BURNING IS
HIGHLY DISCOURAGED...AS CONTAINMENT EFFORTS WOULD LIKELY BE
CHALLENGED. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Town Meeting 5/12/2010

Good Morning everyone!

Yesterday's town meeting was great. The Lithium Spring Restoration Committee continues to improve the spring. The roof on the spring is almost complete. Also the Spring will receive a new weather vain on the top of the roof! The original cone from the spring is being reused. 

Painting of the spring will begin on Tuesday June 1st and Tuesday June 8th between 5 pm and 6 pm, help is needed and appreciated. 

Lithium CERT team is coming along great. Supplies is still needed, if you are able to donate some supplies. 

Also something was mentioned was barricades or water over road signs are needed for Cross St. When it rains really hard or there is flooding in the area, Cross St. floods and it is hard to see the water over the road if you are coming from around the apartments. 

This years 4th of July celebration plans are planned. I will mention is there will be a lot of activities and fun that are being planned for the event with local individuals will be providing entertainment for the event.

Perryville Police looking for child porn suspect

Perryville Police need your help in locating a city resident on the run after he was charged with 7-counts of felony child porn possession. 26-year-old Bruce Jones has been on the loose since last Thursday when city police issued a warrant for his arrest. 

The investigation began when Jones reported a burglary at his home. A laptop computer was taken and later located by police. They examined the hard drive to identify the owner and found 22 files of photos and videos of nude children. The files were downloaded by Jones during the winter of 2008. He has ties in Missouri and Texas. If you have seen him or know his whereabouts, call Perryville Police at 573-547-4546.

Notes from March 17th Meeting

March 17th Town Meeting Notes:

Lithium is looking into some emergency equipment for their CERT team. Spring weather is just around the corner. Also discussed was the spring repairs. Lithium is still collecting donations for the repair of the concrete and shore up the rest of the spring. 

The Lithium Spring Picnic will be coming soon! More details at a later date. 

Something else that was also discussed was a paint day. Once the construction on the roof of the spring is complete, it  will need a new coat of paint along with the playground equipment. Details of that day will be covered in the next meeting. 

Next town meeting will be on April 14.

A Local Update

The "Spring Restoration" project will soon be under way. 

Enough money was raised to purchase a few of much needed emergency supplies for Lithium's CERT Team from everyone who donated and bought items from the bake sale.

Lithium Update

Lithium's Town Meeting was Feb 17th.

Talk about restoring the spring was conducted! Supplies to repair the roof on the spring has been collected and gathered, construction on spring will continue as soon as the weather cooperates. 

Lithium is still  in need of donations to finish up the rest of the restoration of the Spring.

Saturday, March 13 

from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

If you would like to bring donated baked goods, you can drop them off in the front lobby starting at about 8:30 a.m. that morning. You can also get them to Trish Riney the day before by calling 517-0038.

This bake sale is helping raise money to purchase some emergency equipment to help all the CERT volunteers in a disaster.

The next town meeting is scheduled for  
St. Patrick's Day, so wear your green!

A Blanket of White

Perryville received (at my house) 3-4 inches. The ground is covered in a blanket of white. How magnificent is that? I was looking out side my window and there where kids just laughing and have a good time.

Be careful out there, and remember to also enjoy it!
